WHERE WILL WASTE GO IN THE FUTURE?
From Waste To Useful Resource
Ekologie has operated a modern solid-waste reception and processing site in Rynholec since 1993. We are transforming into one of the Czech Republic’s most technologically advanced waste-management operators, with a core focus on mechanical-biological waste treatment.
INDUSTRIAL SOLUTION
EU legislation is expected to progressively restrict landfilling by 2035. The Czech Republic still lacks a comprehensive, energy-efficient and cost-effective industrial solution that would fully replace landfills. Ekologie is already implementing such a solution.
PUBLIC OBJECTIVES
Through sorting and recycling of mixed municipal solid waste (MSW), we minimise landfilling. We recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals and other fractions that are subsequently used for electricity generation and for producing secondary outputs such as thermochemical oil, high-calorific pellets, and biochar. In doing so, we support the Czech Republic in meeting its international waste-management targets.
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
We run open days, school visits and community tours, helping advance public-interest objectives by increasing environmental awareness.
